TROTs recently participated in the Castles Relay Race, a two-day event where 20 runners from each team run a stage across Wales, starting at Caenarvon Castle and finishing at Cardiff Castle.
With 56 teams from all over the UK and teams from Canada and The Netherlands taking part, it was a busy and exciting weekend.
TROTs runners who competed in this event were Mike Hodges, Ian Williams, Helen Williams, Lindy Eynon, Mary Bowen Rees, Clare Clethero, Jonathan Hancock, Ian Morris, Jim Cooper, Dean John, Cyril Walters, Dave Griffiths, Rowena Melbourne, Ann Rowell, Mark Terry, Caroline Jones, Kevin Griffiths, Jason Dickinson, Roger Coombs and Caryl Jones.
There were four stage winners, namely Ian Williams, Mary Bowen Rees, Caroline Jones and Caryl Jones, which is a great achievement.
Over the weekend, the runners were well supported by Dwyfor and Eve Morgan, Tom and Jeanette Holiday, Ron Anthony and Brian Williams.
TROTs are grateful to G. and R. Anthony, New House Garage. for sponsoring them in this event.
The following week, five TROTs took part in the Red Kite Challenge at Aberystwyth. Clare Clethero was the first female over 35 and won the Welsh and British Champion award. Also running were Lon Morgan, Ann Rowell, Mike Hodges and Pauline Thomas.
