The inter-regional cross-country races were held in Wrexham. Caryl Jones, Ann Rowell and Pauline Thomas all represented West Wales. All ran well, especially Caryl, who was the winner of her race and won a gold medal. She subsequently went on to run for Wales in Belfast.
Brian Williams successfully completed yet another arduous half marathon, this time the Llangennith coastal trail in the Gower. At the Merthyr Mawr 10km race, Kevin Griffiths came 17th and Cyril Walters 107th.
On Boxing Day, six TROTs ran the seven-mile race at Trefach Manor. Ian Williams won the race, Evan Williams came 6th, Martin Davies 7th, Claire Clethero was 14th and second female to finish, Mike Hodges was 21st and Pauline Thomas 25th.
Trots entered two teams in the six-mile relay pursuit race at Crymych, which was organised by Roland and Pat Sherwood. TROTs ladies were the winning female team. The team comprised Ann Thomas, Mel Watson, Caroline Jones, Mary Bowen Rees and Claire Clethero.
Other TROTs running were Helen Williams, Penny Rees, Una Crawford, Mike Hodges, Paul Rees, Martin Davies, Ben Perkins and Kevin Griffiths.
