Last Saturday, at Trefloyne GC, members of the home club claimed five of the top six scores. Leading the AJO Memorial at the halfway stage is young Sam Anderson with an excellent 40 points. Martin Yates and Mike Ansell have 39 points and they are joined in second place by Tenby GC's Terry Morgan, who was previously a member of Trefloyne. Scott Roberts and Gerald John have 38 and 37 points, respectively. Next best is Tenby's Richard Morgan with 36 points and, together with Chris Thompson, he is presently a leading contender for the Tenby Observer Cup, awarded for the best aggregate 'gross' score over 36 holes. Competitors are hoping for more glorious weather at Tenby tomorrow (Saturday). There are a few tee times still available, including in the Ladies Section, and members of both clubs are reminded that they can take part in the second leg even if they were absent last week. Prizes will be presented at Tenby Golf Club at about 8 pm that evening and all in contention are urged to attend.
