What a wonderful weekend
Friday night kicked off with December members' night -curry, and not the turkey kind, was on the menu. With a full house and everyone enjoying the delights of Pip, Tom and Annalise's homemade curries with all the added extras, it was certainly a hot and spicy evening. It was wonderful to see so many members.
Next members and guests night will be held in January - keep an eye out for posters and email updates.
With Christmas just around the corner, Trefloyne entered into the Christmas spirit, starting with their stall at Tenby's first Christmas market, selling products from the wonderful Trefloyne kitchen, all homemade with love for all to enjoy. There was Annalise's homemade mince meat and mince pies, Tommy's onion marmalade, perfect for pate, and Sarah's homemade jam, as well as an assortment of Sarah's special homemade cakes.
Oliver, or 'Elf' as he is now known, was also on hand to give the children Tri Golf lessons and for photographs! Elf's tiny tigers, Ella Subbianni and Ned Davies, thought it was great to see their favourite golf teacher dressed up.
It was a wonderful to be part of the first market and everyone is looking forward to many more - a great effort by Tenby Chamber of Trade and local businesses.
Weekend Competitions
Last weekend's competition was a turkey trot for the men, which was won by Barry Neale with a fantastic 39 points.
There were also two 2s recorded by John Calleja and Gary Heesom.
The ladies had their second chicken run, which was won with 34 points by Beth Morris, who also had the only birdie.
The Sunday Swingers were also out in force and enjoyed the slightly warmer weather, with Barry Thorne coming in and taking the pot - well done Barry.
Trefloyne Juniors
The Trefloyne junior section held their annual Christmas Texas Scramble and lunch. It was fantastic to see so many juniors supporting the section and wrapping up warm against the cold and braving the afternoon chill.
Sue Ensor, junior organiser, along with Oliver and his assistant pro James, got all the juniors organised with putting competitions, before the tee-off and excitement began.
The more senior juniors were first off with a 12-hole competition, each team being accompanied by one adult.
It was then time for the main event as Tiny Tigers Ella Subbianni, Evan Thomas, Jack Arrow Smith, Caleb Emery Davies, Jack Davies and Rees Puzey featured in a match between team Head Pro and team Assistant Pro.
The match went right down to the wire and was drawn on the sixth hole. Thanks must go to all our Tiny Tigers for teaching Oliver and James how to improve their swing!
Once the golf was over, it was time to come into The Terrace for some warming food and to buy those ever-important raffle tickets!
Sue worked incredibly hard to make sure there was a table full of chocolates and sweeties for raffle prizes, and the children spent most of the afternoon eying up what their choice would be if they had that all important winning ticket.
After devouring the delicious food, the presentations followed, along with a big thank you to outgoing junior captain, Matthew Adams, and the introduction of new junior captain, Greg Palin, and his vice, Steffan Jones.
Finally, the winners were announced - Jack Davies for the Tiny Tigers putting competition; Greg Palin for the junior putting competition. Team winners were Harrison Duckett, Greg Palin, Thomas Davies and Jason Palin.
A huge thank you must go to all involved in making the juniors day such a memorable one. Special thanks also to Sue Ensor, Oliver Duckett and James Maxwell for all their work in making it possible. Keep an eye on he notice boards and emails for the next junior golf and social event.
Braving the Weather
Few are brave enough to actually take on this cold weather. However, one thing for sure is that the 19th hole at Trefloyne is always open, with the log fire constantly burning and soup on the stove! Enjoy!
