As October 1, 2010, approaches at lightning speed, that moment when the Ryder Cp comes to Wales for the first time in the history of the challenge, the team at Trefloyne are ready and waiting to take on the might of the Americans, with a huge presence at the event.
Sarah, who has worked very closely with the Ryder Cup 2010 team, was said to be 'over the moon' this week when the team positions were announced and Trefloyne are represented in all sections of the event.
She said: "This is just fantastic and a great honour for all of us who have worked so hard with Rob Holt, Ryder Cup CEO, and his team."
Tom and Sarah will be representing Trefloyne and Pembrokeshire as one of only five golf clubs in Wales in the 'Visit Wales' marquee alongside the might of the Vale of Glamorgan golf resort. Gareth Knight, our course manager at Trefloyne, is part of the support green staff and will be working full time preparing the 2010 course the week before and maintaining it during the event. Oliver Duckett, our resident PGA head professional, supports the PGA in running continual golf lessons in the Celtic Manor Academy and Tri-Golf for juniors during the event.
As one of the top 10 fund-raisers in Wales in the Tenovus Ryder Cup challenge, Trefloyne has been presented with a pair of corporate Ryder Cup tickets to attend the event on Friday, and as for Sarah, in recognition of the support Trefloyne has given the Ryder Cup Wales team and her personal involvement throughout the past 18 months, she has been invited to the opening reception with the team from Europe and America in the new 2010 clubhouse.
"To meet the guys we all see day in day out in major golfing events throughout the world face to face will be absolutely tremendous and I simply can't wait," said Sarah.
"So it really is a full house for Trefloyne and we believe it is quite unique for one club to have representation in all areas. So America, bring it on, because you're now facing the best in Europe with team Trefloyne in full support!"

Ladies' News
The midweek medal held on Tuesday, August 10, unfortunately commenced in very uncomfortable rainy conditions. On a brighter note, it then cleared up and became pleasant again.
In first place with a nett 74 and a lowest gross of 89 was Michelle Richards, winning £10 credit. In second place, only a shot behind on gross and a nett 76, was Bethan Morris.
Both Michelle and Bethan returned a birdie and earned £5 credit each for their efforts.
On Friday 13th (hope we don't have too many superstitious readers?), our Trefloyne ladies travelled to South Pembs Golf Club to play in the penultimate game of the Three Counties season.
With the trophy in sight, our ladies were quite excited at the challenge. The course played long, with an exceptionally strong wind, and the team were very pleased with a final score of 2.5 to 2.5.
With one game left, today (Friday), at Cardigan Golf Club, spirits are high and it looks promising.
Saturday saw the ladies compete in a stableford competition and, with the weather bright and sunny, it was nice to see so many ladies enter.
Winning on countback with 34 points was Linda Kromrei, winning £12 credit, and in second place, also with 34 points, was Bethan Morris (playing very consistent golf at the moment).
The only birdie of the day was returned by Bethan Morris, winning £14 credit for her efforts.
Tomorrow (Saturday), the ladies will have the opportunity to enter the annual Hen and Chick competition, which will be a stableford competition open to all lady members, and you are advised to pre-book your tee time with the pro-shop in advance - tel. 01834 845639.
Men's News
The midweek medal held on August 10 was unfortunately entered by only seven men, with only four actually returning a score.
In first place with a nett 72 was Sam Anderson, who also achieved a handicap reduction from 14 to 13. Close behind with a nett 74 and coming second on countback was Mike Ansell.
Sam Anderson returned two birdie 2s - on the third and 16th holes - while Ben Price returned one at the 16th.
On Saturday, we had a record number of gents entering the stableford competition, with a total of 35 entrants. In first place with an amazing 42 points was Josh Hawkes, reducing his handicap from 26 to 24.
Second place went to Steffan Jones with an equally impressive score of 40 points, while third was Matthew Adams with 39 and fourth Mike Williams with 38.
There were four birdie 2s returned on the day, from John Broomhead and Rob Evans on the sixth hole and Billy Truman and Matthew Adams on the 16th.
Tomorrow (Saturday) will just be a straightforward stableford competition and to book your tee-times, please ring the pro-shop on 01834 845639.
