LADIES
The final of the Golf Union of Wales Ladies Centenary Greensome was played at Llandudno (Maesdu) Golf Club last Thursday. Trefloyne's pairing of Anne Morgan and Kristalle Blum made the trip, hoping to bring home the spoils.
The girls could not have asked for better weather to be put on and the course was in excellent condition despite the summer we had had.
Fifty-seven pairs were in the draw and Trefloyne performed brilliantly, but unfortunately were unable to capture the trophy. Anne and Kristalle (despite two wipeouts on two of the par 3s) scored 38 points.
They were extremely disappointed to learn on returning of cards that the winning scores were only 39. They were pipped at the post by Catherine Nutley and Judy Weekes from Dewstow Golf Club.
Despite finishing in third place, which is a triumph in itself of course, the girls recounted what could have been.
Maybe next year when the event will be played much closer to home at Cardigan Golf Club. Well done anyway ladies and Trefloyne.
