Officers of the Afon Taf Gardening Club recently visited the Hywel Dda Gardens at Whitland to see the tree the club had presented to the centre.

The chairman of the Hywel Dda management committee, County Councillor Roy Llewellyn thanked the club for donating the tree to replace the diseased poplar tree in the 'Contract Garden'.

Grateful thanks to Col. Gilbertson, of the Afon Taf Gardening Club, for advice on the choice of tree, which was the Aspen (Populus tremula), characterised by its shimmering green leaves in the summer and bright gold leaves in the autumn.
