Workmen are seen cutting down one of the large trees at Tenby's Five Arches. National Park Authority tree officer Matt Smail said that the very large roots of the tree were found to be lifting the pavement and causing a danger. "We checked the roots, but were unable to cut them without endangering the tree's safety and stability so, regrettably, it has had to come down." The tree, located within the Tenby Conservation Area, will be replaced by another broadleaved tree. As recently reported, the other horse chestnut trees along South Parade have had their crowns thinned and reduced as part of ongoing maintenance.
