Today (Friday) or tomorrow (Saturday) is expected to see the homecoming of sailor, Geoff Titterton, who has spent the last couple of months crossing the Atlantic in his 43-foot yacht, Eclipse of Penarth.

Geoff, of Saundersfoot, and his sister-in-law's brother Billy Stubbs, of Penally, left Trinidad in February. They sailed to Tobago to pick up Geoff's wife Evelien and Billy's partner Pat, before making their way to Union Island, Tobago Cays, Bequia, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Martinique, Guadeloupe and Antigua, where Pat and Evelien left them to fly home.

Evelien had to return home to look after Geoff's mother, Evelyn, who is 97.

Geoff and Billy were then joined by ex-Greenhillian Doug Owen, who now lives in California, for their 10-day voyage to Bermuda, where they were joined by Hywel Watkins, of Landshipping, for the 17-day crossing of the Atlantic to Horta in the Azores.

Billy left Geoff in the Azores to fly home, with Geoff hoping to be home by yesterday (Thursday) for his wife Evelien's 50th birthday, so they could have a joint birthday/homecoming party.

Unfortunately, though, Geoff, who has been joined by his daughter, Lucy, for the last leg of his epic 4,600-mile trip, was delayed leaving the Azores because of bad weather.

Meanwhile, Geoff's son Chris, his wife Sheila and father-in-law Om have come home to welcome Geoff and Lucy back and join in the celebrations.
