"THE variety of work, involvement in interesting projects and tasks, and the challenging opportunities that have come my way in the last two years, convinces me that I have made the right decision."
That's the view of Nick Evans, of Broad Haven, a graduate management trainee who is currently completing the special training opportunity established by Pembrokeshire County Council. For a number of years, a small group of graduates have been selected to undergo a dedicated programme of further education and training, and quality work experience, in order to prepare them for their first managerial post in the authority.
Francis Maull, head of personnel, said: "We were concerned at the 'brain-drain' of bright, committed young people from our county who are graduating from colleges and universities, but who could not further their careers at home.
"Our Graduate Management Training Programme is one step to put right that wrong - a move to invest their skills back into Pembrokeshire."
Pembrokeshire County Council is commencing recruitment for its September 2006 intake. Details are on the council's website
