Narberth’s Span Arts and the Queen’s Hall have been given a special round of applause by one of Britain’s most successful bands.

The town bopped to ’80s pop band T’Pau on Friday night in a sellout gig on the penultimate night of the band’s Songs and Stories acoustic tour.

They performed a spectacular acoustic set that included huge hits like China In Your Hand, Heart and Soul and Valentine with lead singer, the flame-haired Carol Decker telling the stories behind the songs.

Said Carol afterwards: “Span Arts and the Queen’s Hall in Narberth was a great gig for T’Pau. It was packed to the rafters and the crowd were very appreciative of both our classic hits and new material. It’s a great venue that serves the town very well. They really looked after us and made us feel very welcome and this is key to making an artist want to come back to a venue. I was overwhelmed by all the people waiting to get autographs and take pictures. We had a fantastic show.”

Among those to have a selfie with the superstar was former Mayor and Span Arts member, Suzanne Radford-Smith.
