Milford Haven’s Torch Theatre is hosting a special birthday party on May 19 and local over 50s are welcome to come along and join in the fun.

The centre is one of 10 locations across Wales which is holding a Gwanwyn birthday party to celebrate a national arts festival’s 10th anniversary.

Gwanwyn is a month-long, Wales-wide arts festival for over 50s which has been running for the last 10 years.

The Torch Theatre’s event will have a performance of Re-Live Theatre’s ‘Belonging’, workshops, film screenings and more.

Said Emma Robinson, the Gwanwyn festival’s co-ordinator: “It’s May and that means it’s almost time for another fun-packed month of Gwanwyn - our celebration of creativity in older age.

“The festival is 10 years old this year and over that time we’ve met and worked with some fantastic people and organisations.

“So I’m absolutely delighted that the Torch Theatre is hosting this event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Gwanwyn arts festival for over 50s.

“We’re very grateful to the staff here for putting on this party so that people in Pembrokeshire can come and be part of Gwanwyn.”
