International Theatre star Peter Karrie comes to Tenby for the first time next Friday, May 5, when he performs his brand new touring show, Peter Karrie's West End Stars - In Concert, live on stage at Tenby's De Valence Pavilion. The show gives audiences a night of musical magic and an insight into the usually mysterious back- stage atmosphere of some of the world's most prestigious musical venues. Peter Karrie is an international TV, radio and musical theatre performer and star of Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Chess, Evita and Jesus Christ Superstar. He is undoubtedly one of the world's top musical performers. With over 2,500 performances of his internationally-acclaimed starring role as The Phantom of The Opera in London's West End, Canada, Singapore and Hong Kong, as well as on the prestigious Millennium tour, Peter's unique talent has earned him a worldwide reputation as 'The World's Most Popular Phantom'. In a recent story in a national Sunday newspaper, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber announced his own dream ticket for the show would star Peter as the Phantom and Catherine Zeta Jones as Christine. Performing with Peter in Tenby are Saundersfoot Footlights, Haverfordwest Operatic Society and the De Valence Youth Theatre, so there is lots of local interest, as well as the cream of the West End with Peter and top West End musical director Mark Collins performing the most memorable moments of musical theatre. Also, members of the public can have their slot alongside Peter by auditioning on the day of the show. The winner of the auditions performs live on stage that very same evening.
