Narberth Classic Motorcycle Club will again be hosting the opening round of the important National Welsh Classic Scrambles Championship. The event, to be held at the fast and open track at West Atheston Farm, Narberth, will have for the first time a Sidecar Championship class included. Sidecar drivers and their passengers from all over England and Wales have registered to race the six-round series and include many of the top sidecars in Britain. The track for this year's event is to run in the opposite direction to normal, so should prove to be a completely new course. All the usual top solo riders have entered, including Terry Challinor and Tim Manton, so it should provide some exciting racing. The meeting gets underway with practice at 10.30 am and first race at 11.30 am this coming Sunday, April 17. Anyone interested in classic motorcycle racing is welcome to join the club which meets on the first Monday of every month at Narberth Rugby Club, at 8 pm, or contact secretary, Will Gibbon, on 01437 741697.
