Sir, Your recent report concerning the rescue of three girls cut off by the tide in Tenby, together with the subsequent comments of HM Coastguard, highlights the present shortcomings in the dissemination of tidal states and timings to the general public. Currently, and seemingly since the end of last summer, I have observed that tide tables have not been displayed on the designated notice boards at either Amroth, Wiseman's Bridge or Saundersfoot; I suspect that this is also the case at other such locations throughout Pembrokeshire. In the interests of public safety this deficiency clearly needs to be rectified as soon as possible. Peter Sulman,
