Written confirmation that Pembrokeshire County Council will empty private wheelie bins was received yesterday (Thursday) by Narberth's County Councillor Wynne Evans. "There has been much concern expressed that many householders wanted to use these type of bins to save bags being attacked by birds and animals etc., which caused litter problems," said Clr. Evans. "Pembrokeshire County Council refuse collection officers now have instructions to empty wheelie bins providing they are of a 140-litre size capacity and all contents are in black bags, not loose rubbish, otherwise they will not take it. "I have information in my office of numerous companies that sell these bins, and the average price for a 140-litre capacity bin is approximately £39. I will send the information to anyone who requests it."
