Members of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority's development management committee have given their thumbs up to the creation of a residential development in New Hedges.
The application, submitted by Miss J. Rees, was for outline consent to demolish the former Sundowner Motel and redevelop the land for residential use with an indicative layout for 15 units to include an element of affordable housing.
At their meeting on Wednesday, members went along with the officers' recommendation to approve the plans subject to a number of conditions.
"This development could enhance that area of the village considerably and it's pleasing to see something finally done," commented Clr. Michael Williams, with his fellow member David Ellis concurring.
"This development is on a prominent site and I'll support it if a quality design can be put in place with carefully thought out units," he added.
The outline application was unanimously approved by members.
