Plans for an ambitious healthcare campus in Tenby have been approved by members of Pembrokeshire County Council's planning and rights of way committee.
Members discussed the application for an extension to existing Park House Court healthcare premises when they met at County Hall, Haverfordwest, on Tuesday.
The proposed scheme will provide 132 mixed tenure serviced care units, with associated communal facilities and access, to form a cohesive healthcare campus at the Narberth Road location.
The application states that the intention is to develop the facility into a comprehensive continuing care campus as an extension to the existing Park House Court Care Home.
The proposal represents a departure from the development plan that would be significant, and as such, the resolution to approve the scheme will now need to be approved by the full council, advertised as a departure, and the application will need to be referred to the Welsh Assembly Government for consideration as to whether to call it in for its own determination.
