There were plenty of thrills and a few spills too at Tenby's annual pancake race in aid of the RNLI.

Shrove Tuesday saw everyone from the town's Mayor to RNLI mascot Stormy Stan having some flipping fun in Tudor Square, with plenty of children joining in the fun and taking part in the various categories of pancake races for what was the fourth annual fundraiser, masterminded by event organiser Joanna Thomas, along with the help of the Tenby Fundraising Team.

Even the lifeboat crew themselves were persuaded to take part in the pancake race fun, with crew member Rhys Thomas beating his colleagues to first place.

With the race activities in the day followed by a special charity two-course pancake dinner in the evening at the Fourcroft Hotel, a magnificent £420.40 was raised in total for the RNLI, with the bucket collection in Tudor Square raising £117.30 and the raffle in the evening, which made £64, going towards proceeds.

Winner of the raffle first prize of a canvas painting, kindly donated by Steve Duckworth, was Tenby lifeboat operations manager Phil Rees.

"Congratulations to all our race winners and thank you to everyone who helped make this possible and for making the event such a success," said organiser Joanna.

Special thanks go to Chris and Kath at the Fourcroft for their generous hospitality and the Fourcroft chefs for their delicious pancakes.

A big thank you also goes to everyone who donated prizes, took part in the races and to the Yorkshire Building Society staff who made pancakes throughout the day.

Tenby's Mayor, Clr. Trevor Hallett, who was on hand with his frying pan to join in the fun of the day said: "The RNLI pancake race is all part of putting Tenby on the map and creating an event which will be remembered and raises money for such an important organisation."
