Two local ladies, who recently took on the Three Peaks Challenge, have raised £3,770 for the Alzheimer's Society.

Paula Robins from Tenby and Angela Lewis from New Hedges, raised £1,885 in sponsorship, which was match funded by Santander, the bank that they work for.

"The Three Peaks Challenge was quite an experience. There were times when we were wet, cold, hungry and very tired," explained Angela and Paula.

"That said, we thoroughly enjoyed it, and it was nothing compared to the challenge that Alzheimer's sufferers and their carers have to face every day," they added.

Both ladies would like to say a big thank you to their friends, family, colleagues and customers who sponsored them and also the following local businesses: T.P. Hughes; Charnwait Management; Joe Fecci and Sian; Mario and Sara Fecci; Tony Upham; Janina Louise; High Jones; Boot of Lydstep; Walk on Water; Tenby Travel; the Rotary Club; Tenby Ladies Circle; and Neil Finlay Cars.

The pair are hoping to organise a similar event next year, by taking on the Welsh 3,000s Challenge which takes in three mountain ranges in Snowdonia, covering 15 peaks, all over 3,000 feet. They hope to complete this challenge over three days in May.

Anyone who may be interested in joining the duo in their next challenge is asked to contact Angela or Paula.
