Oakwood Theme Park has donated sets of tickets as rewards for people who donate presents to this year’s St. David’s Toy Appeal.

Now in its second year, the appeal aims to ensure every child in South Wales receives a Christmas gift.

In 2015, the event collected more than 5,500 toys for children in need across the region and organisers are expecting this year’s appeal to be even more successful.

People are invited to donate new toys and gifts at special Donation Stations within Cardiff’s St. David’s shopping centre which this year are being supported by Capital FM.

Oakwood Theme Park’s Phil Verbinnen said: “We were approached to see if we could donate some tickets as rewards for all the generous people who are donating gifts to the Toy Appeal.

“It’s a fantastic cause which is working with a whole host of inspirational charities across South Wales and we were only too pleased to get involved.

“Christmas is a time for giving and helping out those who need it most of all. The appeal is a fantastic way to give a little back and ensure every single child receives a gift over the festive period,” he added.

The St. David’s Toy Appeal, which runs until December 22, is supporting 12 key charities across Cardiff, Newport, Bridgend and the South Wales Valleys, including: Ty Hafan, Sparkle, Action For Children, Gibbonsdown Children’s Centre, Home Start, Dreams & Wishes, Latch, Barnardo’s Cymru, George Thomas Hospice Care, Y Bont, Valleys Kids and the Salvation Army.
