Following last week's announcement that one of the eight Swim Factor contestants will be eliminated this week, we can now report that the contestant with the least votes was Roger 'Hoppy' Brace and as a result he has been saved from the festive dip.

There was only one vote between Roger and Jeffrey 'Jeffers' Price, so it was a big relief to Roger when Swim Factor organisers called to give him the news on Tuesday night.

Roger commented: "The last time I was this happy was when I scored a try for Wales. I'm very pleased to have contributed to such a worthy cause and many thanks to those who voted for me - who knows, maybe next year I'll have another go, although the people from Strictly Come Dancing have been on the 'phone asking if I'll do that next year, so we'll have to wait and see.

"It is a relief to get out of swimming, especially as it looks like it will be a very cold one this year! I'll now be giving my support to Wiggy, as I know he'd make a big splash if he wins!"

Meanwhile, at the top of the leaderboard things are very tight. Michael 'Wiggy' Wainwright is still out in front, but closely followed by early pace-setters David 'Lalu' Lewis and Simon Rowell, there has never been more than 10 votes separating the three of them.

The biggest move of the week came from Roger 'Stanno' Stanford, who started the week in the bottom three and in danger of the drop, and ended the week in fourth place after a flurry of votes over the weekend. Also, in a crafty bit of electioneering, last week's promise by Dai 'The Boot' Thomas to sing in front of the crowds if he wins seems to have worked, with a big surge in votes for Dai during the week.

Once again, the contestant with the least votes will be eliminated next week, with votes being counted at 7 pm on Tuesday night.
