Summer is almost over in Tenby. It's August Bank Holiday Morning and a couple of contrasting crews are converging on the resort in 'Fun in the Sun' on HTV next Thursday, February 7, at 7.30 pm.
There's the ladies of the Tredegar Old Age Pensioners - ladies who lunch, drink lager, sing Sunday School choruses and paddle in the sea.
By contrast, and a little less intimidating, are the Liverpudlian bikers who sweep into town and meet up with the local chapter of the Hell's Angels.
But it's not just the day-trippers. The hotels are full with visitors squeezing the last week out of the summer holidays. At the Fourcroft Hotel, the season is ending swimmingly as Cath Osborne sticks up a 'No Vacancies' sign, and daughter Chloe has to show all her speed and skill in bed-making.
Over at the Giltar Hotel, the boss Miguel Gonzalez is going back to the kitchen. Later on, he's going to make a gigantic paella down at the harbour front to raise money for charity. But in case of problems in the open air, he's making a stand-by pan in the hotel kitchen. Chicken, mussels, bacon and peppers are mixed in with the yellow rice of the paella. He deserves that quiet five minutes with a glass of wine.
The sun-kissed Tredegar ladies are setting off for the valleys in their coach, but the bikers are staying the night and they set off with a guide on Tenby's Ghost Walk. It's not clear that they're totally thrilled by the experience. They'd much rather be down on the quayside where Miguel's serving up plate after plate of paella.
In a few days, most of the tourists will be gone, leaving the Osbornes and Miguel to reflect on a summer that went far better than anyone expected back in the gloomy days of spring, when the Foot and Mouth epidemic threatened the entire season.
This is the last programme in the series which is a Green Bay production for HTV. The director is Nia Dryhurst and the producers are Phil George and John Geraint.
