A full symphony orchestra, a brass band and a steel band will be crowding into Nant-y-Ffin Motel in Llandissilio on Sunday for a feast of Christmas carols in aid of charity. But the players will be rather small - small enough to fit into a computer, in fact.
The event will be led by the life-size St. Cledwyn's Singers using their trademark digital accompaniments played on virtual instruments, all brought together by musical director Jonathan Copus.
"We're aiming for a really fun evening with plenty of audience participation," said Jonathan. "There'll be a chance to buy food and drink, so it's really a kind of cabaret concert with a large singalong element. The carols will take us on a world tour, including Austria, France, the West Indies - and, of course, Wales."
The compère will be the larger-than-life Huw George, county councillor and minister of Blaenconin Chapel, retelling the age-old story with the aid of carols in Welsh, Latin, French and English.
Benefiting from the evening will be the Paul Sartori Foundation, a charity which brings relief to people suffering from terminal illnesses through its home care team of over 40 nurses and carers throughout Pembrokeshire.
Admission is £5, although larger amounts will of course be gratefully accepted. One hundred per cent of the money will go straight to the foundation - all the performers are donating their services, and the motel is contributing the use of the premises free of charge.
The concert is sponsored by the Arts in Churches charity ARCH, and tickets are available on the door or in advance from the chairman, the Rev. Anthony Bailey, on (01437 532430).
Guests are asked to assemble at 7 for a 7.30 pm start.
