In temperatures more typical of August than late October, several art lovers converged on Tenby Museum and the adjacent Castle Hill on Saturday to take part in 'The Big Draw' - an event organised nationally by the Campaign for Drawing.
This event, the only one held in West Wales, was one of many organised on that day throughout the UK to encourage people of all ages to explore drawing and to develop their analytic and imaginative skills in an informal, friendly atmosphere.
The tutor for the day was well known local artist, teacher and writer Bob Reeves, who gave freely of his time and skills to encourage a group, ranging in age from retired persons to junior school pupils.
The exceptionally warm weather provided an excellent opportunity to sketch the unparalleled beauty of the views from the promontory overlooking Carmarthen Bay, Caldey Island and the South Beach. All participants pronounced the event to be immensely enjoyable.
Bob Reeves is currently putting the finishing touches to works which will be displayed in a major one-man show - 'Song of the West Wind - a celbration of Pembrokeshire in paintings, poetry and sculpture', to be held at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery from November 5-23 (Monday - Friday, 10 am - 5 pm).
