Last Friday evening, Tenby and District Arts Club presented their annual Christmas entertainment for members and anyone else who would like to join in the fun.

This year, once again, Mary Smith produced the work with the able assistance of Valerie Cochlin, who introduced the characters as they sat on the stage, and gave a brief summary of the plot.

The Christmas pudding over which the battle raged was displayed for all to see, deliciously made by the chairman, Doreen Hammersley.

The baddies were led by the Mayor (John Beynon), supported by Crawling Cassie (Margaret Hill) and Creepy Cuthbert (Clive Mathias).

The Mayor, resplendent in full reglia, faced the townsfolk (the Goodies), led by Storming Norman (Laurie Dale), noisily backed up by Nagging Norah (Doreen Hammersley), Billy Big Mouth (Lew Day), Dodgy Dai (John Bevan) and Frivolous Fanny (Kath Brown), whose hat was very much admired!

The audience also became involved by supporting the villagers vociferously against the greedy, grasping Mayor.

As in all good pantomimes, the goodies won the battle eventually after Oscar-winning performances by an all-star cast, much to the satisfaction of an exhausted audience.

As a reward, a delicious buffet was set out by Roz and Rosanne, which was enjoyed by everyone!

Arts Club meetings resume on Friday, January 16, when Kathy Talbot will be talking about ceramics.
