On Saturday, there was a street party in Front Street, Pembroke Dock, to celebrate the new look which has been a tough challenge, but well worth it.

Now all the railings and benches have been done, the slipway is now the longest it has been for many years and, thanks to the fantastic staff at the Port of Pembroke, the damaged boat has gone so that the children can now play safely.

Yes, Front Street is now a place which is well worth visiting and the view is fantastic, plus you have the brilliant public house, the Shipwright, where you are always given a very warm welcome,

The street party was my way of saying a massive thank you to the dedicated volunteers who have worked so hard since June 30 and also the very generous sponsors, including the Maritime Heritage Society (Pembroke Dock), Talbot Timber, Tesco, Regen, Pembroke Dock, The Shipwright, Woodenbale, Ledwoods, PCC, and finally the Port of Pembroke, without whose help none of this would have been possible.

The street party was a huge success thanks to such kind kind people, including the Vagrants Crew, Lionel Nutting, Vibe Dance Group, Little Monsters, Maritime Heritage Society, and finally Tim Beard, himself a volunteer, who made a fantastic celebration cake for this great event, saying well done.

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves with all the singing, dancing, boating and the balloons, and now everyone can enjoy the fresh Front Street once more after years of neglect.

Thank you one and all.
