Sir, Three-and-a-half years ago, my husband Gareth was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. With Daisy only two-weeks-old and Dylan three, we wondered how we would cope. Obviously you do, and we have tried to remain in a positive frame of mind. Family have been a huge support and have helped us every step of the way. But added to this, Gareth and I have been astounded and heart-warmed by local people's generosity and support. Chris Brace (Niffy) set up the 'Gareth Scotcher Trust Fund' and we do not think a fortnight goes by without reading in the Observer that someone has raised money for us. We would like to sincerely thank everyone. At times it can be hard, but we are so grateful that we live in Tenby where we know we can turn to anyone and are surrounded by fantastic friends and family. A special thank you must go to Matthew Evans, Stephen Rogers and Nicky Rees for their 3 in 3 challenge. A huge amount of money was raised. Thank you boys!
