Sainsbury’s Tenby would like to say a huge thank you to their customers and colleagues who together raised over £3,000 for Sport Relief.

This small Sainsbury’s store punched way above their weight with a fund-raising effort that saw them ranked second in the whole of the company for £’s raised per head. Each colleague averaging a whopping £60 of funds raised.

The store manager, Chris Thompson (pictured cycling at front of store), said: “It is incredibly heart-warming to see the tremendous efforts every colleague in the store went to in this year’s Sport Relief campaign. This is a great community, with incredibly generous customers, who really dug deep in their support of such a worthwhile cause. It was also pleasing to see local businesses get involved donating raffle prizes and access to their facilities.”

The store raised more money this year than the last three put together, with activities such as raffles, treasure hunts, pool-a-thon, five-a-side football competition, a scooter rally, indoor basketball, 24-hour game-a-thon and so much more.

In total, Sainsbury’s raised just over £6m, which will benefit worthy causes at home and abroad, with around 50 per cent of funds raised going to each. Many thanks again to everyone for their very generous support.
