The Avenue Centre, Tenby, was the venue for the March meeting of the Tenby Visually Impaired People Group last Tuesday afternoon when the roll call revealed 27 members present.

Chairman, John Webb, welcomed everyone, with a special welcome to president Jim Hatcher, who was able to join the group after being absent for a few months.

Project worker, Tom Forgaard, welcomed the speaker for the afternoon, Pamela Lewis from Age Concern. Pamela gave a very interesting talk advising members of the help Age Concern is able to provide, which includes information on benefits, help with completing forms, odd jobs and assistance after hospital visits.

She left the telephone number of Age Concern with the secretary, Margaret Walker, and also promised to look into the possibility of providing information in an audio format.

She was thanked for her advice, and several members were delighted to see Pamela again, as at one time she worked for Social Services and was instrumental in setting up the groups over 10 years ago.

Welcome refreshments were served by the ladies of Tenby Inner Wheel, and this month's raffle winners were Stuart Jones, Betty Austin and Brenda Cole.

Following a quiz and a few funny stories, members made their way home on the PBS minibus and Saundersfoot Rotary Club transport and were looking forward to the next meeting on Tuesday, April 21.

If any visually impaired person would like to join the group, please contact Margaret Walker on 843464.
