TENBY learners were able to engage with their local Member of Parliament recently when he visited the seaside town’s secondary school.

Henry Tufnell spoke to Year 9 learners at Ysgol Greenhill in Tenby on Friday, where the students were described as ‘fantastic’ in their response to the Labour MP for Mid and South Pembrokeshire.

Pupils asked him a broad range of questions on themes including the economy, the environment, fox hunting, and local health services.

It comes as Mr Tufnell is teaming up with colleagues in Parliament in writing to the Prime Minister, calling for under 16s social media restrictions, similar to the model used in Australia. He is hearing from parents, carers and teachers about the impact of addictive social media platforms on children’s mental health, wellbeing, and ability to learn.

Meanwhile at Greenhill School, Year 12 engineering pupils took part in a workshop with Catapult focused on green energy production. The students learned how the energy grid operates and is balanced, alongside exploring developments in wind and tidal energy technologies.
