It has been quite a story getting them there. Having courted in the late eighties in Newcastle Emlyn when Kev was 19 and Charlie just 16, Kev moved to Tenby with work, helping to launch the then Gateway store, now Sainsbury’s.

Back in those days it was not easy staying in touch and Kev eventually sent Charlie home to live with her family; not an easy time for Charlie.

Some 23 years later, when they were both single, they became friends on Facebook and soon afterwards met by chance in Matalan, Carmarthen.

By this time, Kev had been living back in Tenby since 2009, after life had taken him away in the nineties.

Slowly, they began courting again, only seeing one another for a couple of hours a week. Later, this became weekends. After a five year period had elapsed, in 2016, Charlie also finally moved to Tenby as she should have done all those years ago. Their plan had always been to live and work within the town walls of Tenby, if possible, and to mix with the local community.

Charlie started her Tenby working life at the Co-op which was her early springboard into the town centre. Kev’s stepping stone was the DWP contact centre in Pembroke Dock, as he had previously lived and worked in Haverfordwest.

From there, when the time was right, they deceided to leave these places of work simultanously and taken on and run the Cancer Research shop together before moving into management and preferred local stores in their own right.

Today, as a couple, they are grateful to have made so many meaningful friendships and can be found in the centre of Tenby. Do you know where they are?
