Tenby United RFC are applying to the courts to be allowed to operate part of their Upper Frog Street clubhouse as a pub, it was revealed this week.

Before members of Tenby Town Council for their observations on Tuesday night was a notice from Geoffrey Alec Carew and Stuart Allen stating their intent to apply to Tenby Magistrates Court on March 7 for a new 'on licence'.

Members noted that this would allow the rugby club to operate as a public house.

Clr. Mrs. Marilyn Cray explained that at present non-members could not use the club, but the intention was, following its refurbishment, to create an area where members of the public could call in off the street, while retaining other rooms as 'members only' areas.

"I cannot see any problems with it," she said.

Members agreed, offering no objections to the Rugby Club's application.
