Councillors in Tenby are looking to spruce-up the seaside town’s ‘welcome sign’.

The matter of the ‘Welcome to Tenby’ sign, situated at the entrance of Lady Park, often surrounded by a floral display during peak season, was raised at the most recent meeting of Tenby Town Council, by Cllr James Phillips.

His fellow member agreed to investigate refurbishment of the sign, stating that there were sufficient funds in the town council maintenance budget, for such a project.

Tenby sign doctored
Pranksters have doctored the 'Welcome to Tenby' sign with a little addition to say that its 'Nicer Than Saundersfoot' Gareth Davies Photography who captured this image, remarked: “A little harsh i believe but slightly humorous, too - fortunately we are blessed with both wonders.” Pembrokeshire County Council said that it was aware of the alteration and that the sign would be inspected in due course. With regards to the Pembrokeshire County Council ‘welcome to Tenby sign’ a little further up the road, which a cheeky prankster had added the wording ‘Nicer than Saundersfoot’ to some time last year, the Town Council confirmed that the matter had now been followed up with PCC.
