Ian Nicholls’s ‘Remem-bered Faces’ last month included Olive Elizabeth Webster (née Lewis), wife of Jack and mother of Anthony, Michael, Randle, Robert and Pauline.
Olive, who was born at ‘The Flats’, Tenby Harbour, was well known for giving a helping hand and in the 1940s she was commended for rescuing and saving a young lad from drowning in the harbour.
Many thanks to Carol Webster for telling us that the ‘young lad’ in question was Rex Edwards - now living in Penally. His son Glen is married to Olive’s granddaughter Katherine and they have two children, Caitlin and Jacob. Things would have been very different if Mrs. Webster had not come to Rex’s rescue. What a coincidence!
