A TEAM from Tenby are taking on the ultimate European banger adventure this weekend in aid of charity.
Team Tommy Tankers, consisting of Rob Faulkner, of Tenby's Crown Inn, Dan James, of Maverick Tattoo Studio, Friday Ad's Paul Davis and Crew Barbers' Jon Berry, headed out on Wednesday to be a part of the Monte Carlo Or Bust challenge, described as a fun-filled journey through spectacular settings, which will feature 78 cars.
The crew say they will "hopefully" arrive back with the car, after travelling through France, Switzerland/Italy, and touching base at the end of the rally to do an F1 lap in Monte Carlo, before going on to Nice for Bastille Day celebrations.
The team are doing the rally in aid of Action Duchenne http://www.actionduchenne.org/">www.actionduchenne.org/
"We'd like to say a huge thank you to James and all at Park Road Garage who did all the mechanical work on the car for free," said Jon.
"Anyone who would like to sponsor us can contact Crew Barbers in Upper Frog Street, The Crown Inn, Lower Frog Street, or Maverick Tattoo Studio, The Norton," he added.
Alternatively, donations can be given through Chris Spowart, who is doing Ironman also for the same charity cause at http://www.justgiving.com/chrisspowart/">www.justgiving.com/chrisspowart/
After the rally, teams may choose to get their banger crushed on the Côte d'Azur, but Jon said he hopes to bring the vehicle back to Tenby to be a part of the annual Tenby Fireman's Carnival procession in August.
