The annual general meeting of the Tenby Talking Newspaper was held at the Methodist Chapel, Saundersfoot. Chair person, Eva Rich, welcomed everyone, a representative from each team being present, and expressed her thanks together with that of all the visually impaired recipients of the Tenby Talking Newspaper to all the five teams of readers and copiers, saying how much everyone enjoyed what was read. Special thanks was extended to co-ordinator, Jean Roberts, who takes care of the administrative matters each week, and whilst everyone was pleased to hear that she was making a good recovery following her recent operation, regrettably she was not well enough to attend the meeting. In her absence, John Harris advised that Jean had been awarded a certificate by Kilgetty, Begelly Community Council in recognition of her hard work, which he had accepted on her behalf. Treasurer, Bob Storey, gave the financial report, and there was much discussion regarding the possibility of having to go digital in the future, but it was felt that the cassette would be available for a few years yet. The four officers, Eva Rich, Newman Vincent, Bob Storey and John Harris, were all re-elected, and there was then some general discussion regarding the news each team provided. The meeting closed with again thanks being expressed to all concerned, and coffee and cake to celebrate the birthday of Fred Goulding, who is a faithful member of team 4. If any visually impaired person in the county or indeed anyone who has moved away and would like to receive the Tenby Observer on tape, please contact the chair person, Eva Rich, on 01834 812868.
