This season, the Swifts junior committee have been busy going around all the local schools looking for children who may be interested in joining the Tenby Swifts as budding rugby players.
The Swifts committee thought that the Crymych junior section was by far the best organised junior section last season.
They developed local talent into their set-up for all age groups.
Last season on finals day, they were represented in four out of six finals and won each final. Bearing this in mind, Tenby's aim over the summer period was to talk to various people and find out what makes Crymych tick.
Since then, Tenby Swifts have introduced coaching sessions at the astro-turf every Thursday for age groups 7s and 8s and 9s between 5 and 6 pm.
The response from the schools has been breathtaking, with 85 children turning up for the first session, with numbers increasing each week.
All other age groups at the Swifts have also seen increased numbers at training.
Big thanks go to all the coaches who are now responsible for liaising with head of sport at Greenhill School, Tenby, Matthew Davies. Also a big big thank you goes to Lisa Roberts who has taken over the position of fixture secretary this year. It is a very demanding, responsible position and she is doing a fantastic job in organising as many extra games as possible. This will no doubt improve results and playing standards in the Tenby Swifts.
This season sees the introduction of the 14s team which now means Tenby have a full complement of teams from under 7s all the way to the under 16s.
They have in place an extra nine coaches to help and encourage children of all ages and abilities.
The Swifts have also reorganised their sponsorship packages, with over £6,000 already, which enables each team to have a sponsor. Various other sponsors aim to give all the children who represent the Swifts a Tenby United t-shirt.
The committee is hard at work, with many parents trying to improve the facilities at The Clicketts.
One sponsor has agreed to supply floodlights on the new training pitch which the rugby club has acquired from the football club. The facelift at the changing rooms is nearly complete and the Swifts hope to have the refreshment area up and running by the end of October.
If any other organisation or business would like to support the club in helping the Swifts develop community rugby, please contact Chris who will advise you on all sorts of sponsorship packages to suit all budgets.
