Local singer-songwriter Ruthie Thomas, Tenby, has been invited to sing at the Samaritan's Purse Gala Charity Concert in Cardiff on June 30.

Ruthie, who is also a successful published author, launched her latest CD Heaven Direct, last year in Tenby.

Heaven Direct includes the revival hymn from Wales, The Cross Is Raised.

Ruthie will be performing this revival hymn, along with He is the Dance in my Feet, which was written by Ruthie in December 2011, and will shortly be on the Christian Copyright Licensing (CCLI) website for use by schools and churches etcetera.

"Everyone is welcome to join us for an evening of contemporary music and song with a fascinating insight into the work of a major global charity on the cutting edge of humanitarian relief and community support." said Paul Houiellebecq, Samaritan's Purse West England and South Wales regional manager.

"It is sure to be an entertaining, talent-filled evening, including Ruthie's distinctive performances of these inspiring hymns, and all for an excellent cause.

The concert takes place on: Saturday, June 30, at 7.30 pm, at City Temple Church, Cowbridge Road East, CF11 9AD. Tickets are £5 with free drink served on arrival for pre-booked tikets. All proceeds goes to Samaritan's Purse.
