ON Saturday, September 30, Tenby Ex-Serviceman’s Club (AKA The Dog’s Home) plays host to a unique entertainment experience in the shape of ‘An Evening of Mindless Drivel’.
Now in its fourth year, the event is the brainchild of local authors Nicky Lloyd and Lance Russell, who are delighted to include the show, this year, in the ever wonderful annual Tenby Arts Festival.
What can the audience expect?
“Expect the unexpected!” advises Lance who writes, with Nicky, the comedy sketches that feature in the show and who cites what appears to be ‘organised chaos’ as the show’s most endearing quality.
With the help of a bunch of the most talented artists, ‘Mindless Drivel’ takes ‘variety’ to another level.
Professional story-teller Phil Okwedy captivates his audience and holds them in the palm of his hands and this year will be no exception as Phil has a few enthralling stories planned.
Musicians Davey and Maddy, from Barry, but with Tenby connections, will be putting their own unique slant on several cover songs, as well as a few of their own beautifully-crafted numbers.
Tenby’s very own ‘Mr Entertainment’, Mr. Laurie Dale, will belt out some ‘Big Show’ tunes in his own inimitable fashion and Nicky will perform several funny song parodies and some poignant performance poetry.
The ‘Drivel’ team also includes the very talented Shane Thomas, Kate Rowell, Alyson Phillips and Juliette Lees, who all get to act out comedy sketches that touch on subjects such as American Politics and Aliens, School Reports, Contraband Cigars, the Haka and much, much more. And of course... there’s them darn Stones!
Tickets are a steal at £7.50 and can be purchased from Tenby Ex-Serviceman’s Club, Dales Music, Tenby Bookshop, The Jazz Sweetshop, in person from Lance and Nicky at most local watering holes and from Tenby Arts Festival.
Each of the three previous shows have been a sell-out, so look sharp, don’t delay and get your tickets today.
