Christmas Outreach Begins: Tenby Salvation Army began their Christmas Outreach on November 23 with their Christmas Fair (writes Marie Moreton).

They opened their doors to everyone and inside were hand-made crafts, cakes and many other items for sale.

There was also tea, coffee and food available, which many sat down for and enjoyed; this included fresh home-made Welsh cakes being cooked outside which was a sell-out.

This was a very successful day and Tenby Salvation Army says a big thank you to everyone who, in many different ways, contributed to this success.

The next Christmas Outreach took place last Sunday at Picton Castle, where the Tenby Salvation Army band was invited to play Christmas carols. This was a joyous and fruitful afternoon as people stopped to listen and to have a chat.

Also, some people sang along with us and some requested their favourite carols. People were very appreciative and very generous, too, as they gave their donations.

Tenby Salvation Army says a big thank you to everyone, and to the staff who provided us with coffee and cakes when we finished playing.

All this is Christmas Outreach because we do more than just raise funds for the work we do. During these events we also meet people and listen to people, and this often leads to us learning of and meeting needs somewhere in some way.

Tenby Salvation Army band will be out and about a lot this Christmas time.
