Sunday sailing
I don't have the results of the first of the frostbite series to hand. More next week.
Junior Racing
At last, sailing was possible last Sunday although the wind strength varying from Force 0 the 2 made conditions very testing and fluky.
The easterly direction also resulted in the usual choppy seas.
Three races were run back-to-back with everyone having a share of glory. In the first race, James May in a Tera found a good patch of wind early on and just pulled away from the fleet. Alex Brace was second.
In a longer Race 2 of three rounds, Jonathan Morris was unbeatable in his Topper with Matthew May second this time.
In the third race, Alex Brace pulled away and finished first with Matthew second.
A strange set of results with almost a tie on overall positions so far. Everything will depend on the racing on Sunday and the tide will be in!
Let's hope a few more of the regulars will turn out.
Max Randles was out sailing his 29er showing his new crew the ropes and doing the usual capsize drills very successfully.
Blake would like to thank Karin Morris and Peter Randles for their invaluable help in running the race training.
Darts
Unbelievable as it sounds, we won! Yes, we won! Swanlake were under-strength which helped our cause, but nevertheless a win is a win which we are still celebrating. When the team descends to earth, captain Terry Evans expects full concentration on this evening's match when we are away to the Parsonage, St. Florence. Participating members please note.
