Eight sailors launched on Sunday in beautiful sunshine and a gentle force 2 for a practice session. Paul Evenden, with guest crew Chris Mackay on board his new Osprey, was focusing on spinnaker work with some nifty hoisting and lots of smooth- flowing gybes. Mike and Deanna, in their Osprey, utilised the light conditions to pull off some very crisp roll tacks, getting good forward drive out of the manoeuvres. It was good to see the youths represented in two boats, with Rosie Brace in the Tera enjoying the near-perfect conditions and Max Randles showing good skill single-handing in the RS Feva. The club's new training boat, the RS Vision, is proving very popular and this week was afloat again, with Sian May and Dan Jackson putting her through her paces, flying the Asymmetric spinnaker to near perfection. Many thanks to Dan Jackson for the above contribution to this week's article. Sailing as usual next week with an 11 am prompt start
Darts
We were soundly beaten by a very good darting outfit. Whilst some of our performances were very good, we were no match for a well-oiled Jeffreyston Inn. This evening, captain Terry Evans is hopeful for a return to winning ways when we are away to league leaders Swanlake. A tall order, but who knows? Would participating members please note the venue.
