The weather played a significant role in this week's sailing events. The junior training sessions had to be conducted on land due to severe weather conditions. The plethora of eager juniors were split into groups and given tuition on basic sailing up to simple racing techniques by principal instructor Blake Shaw, Mark Dashfield and Nick Berridge.

The usual mouth-watering BBQ was laid on in the absence of the legendary Terry Evans, who had choral duties. Many thanks to Karin Morris and Helen Berridge for their efforts in feeding the ravenous masses.

The adult sail training weekend was also affected by the inclement weather. A large turnout was given land-based tuition on Friday evening by Blake Shaw and Mark Dashfield.

On Saturday, conditions were such that the cruiser fraternity were used to give the trainees some hands-on experience. Grateful thanks are extended to Blake Shaw, Mike Stace and Steve Lewis, who took the trainees out in their cruisers for a very exciting sail in the North Bay. All were treated to a brunch by Terry Evans after the de-brief.

Sunday's session was cancelled, again due to the adverse conditions. It is hoped, weather permitting, to run a hands-on session this Sunday evening commencing at 5pm - contact Blake Shaw on 842535 for further details.

Blues Jam Evening

What an evening of superb music. The variety of instruments and styles of play made the evening very enjoyable indeed. Many thanks to all who made a contribution. The next session is on Wednesday, June 21. Please support these talented musicians who so freely give of their time.

Wednesdays - sail training and the legendary Terry Evans BBQ. Saturday/Sunday, June 24/25 - Annual Regatta. The clubhouse will be open every evening, except Mondays and occasional Sundays, until September. Doors open at 7 pm, unless otherwise stated.
