Last week I mentioned the success achieved by one of our junior members, Tommy D'Ortez. He and other enthusiastic members, such as Angelo Fecci, have reached a very competent level of sailing, which is testimony to their hard work and enthusiasm and the dedication of instructors such as Blake Shaw, Mark Dashfield, Edward Dashfield and Nick Berridge.

If we are to keep this momentum going, now is the time to think of planning for this season's training. It's only a few weeks away to the start of the new season, especially the Wednesday evening training sessions. These sessions are traditionally well attended, with several juniors going on to the area training and more.

So mums and dads, here's an opportunity to give your offspring a chance to learn the joy of sailing. Should any of you be interested, contact principal instructor Blake Shaw on 842535 or commodore Rolly Squibbs on 842170 for further details. More on training and sailing in the forthcoming features.

CHEESE AND

CAWL EVENING

Tomorrow, St. David's Day, the club is holding its annual Cheese and Cawl Evening. Traditional cawl will be served with bread and cheese, so why not celebrate St. David's Day by indulging in genuine Welsh cuisine. For those vegetarians amongst you there will be a vegetable cawl to tease your tastebuds.

Hopefully, once the ravenous amongst you have been seated, you will take part in a traditional Welsh singalong - yes, it has been requested!

To tempt you even further we have a superb guest ale on offer for the discerning palate.

This promises to be a fun evening, so come along and support the club.

JAZZ EVENING

The talented Greenhill Jazz Band are eager to perform the first of their series of 'gigs' at the club on Saturday, March 8. These youngsters deserve our support, so please come down and enjoy good music and good food. Proceedings begin at 8.15 pm.

DARTS

Will all the practice prove decisive? We are at home this evening to the Swanlake Inn. Participating members please note. Could this be the turning point? Watch this space.
