Unfortunately I have not received the results of last Sunday's racing. Watch this space! Racing as normal this Sunday - would participating sailors please note that proceedings will commence at 10 am for a prompt 11 am start.
As mentioned last week, the dates for the WYA training sessions have been altered. Would participating sailors please note that the new dates are Saturday, January 5, Saturday, January 26 and Saturday, February 2.
On the social side, the new calendar of events has been arranged and included in the newsletter sent out recently. Would members please note the following immediate social dates.
Saturday, December 22 - Christmas carvery; Boxing Day, December 26 - A traditional gathering at the club following the swim (all are welcome); Monday, December 31 - New Year's Eve party; Saturday, January 12 - London Boat Show.
CHRISTMAS
POEMS AND PINTS
The annual Christmas Poems and Pints evening was a most enjoyable occasion, with several members offering a wide variety of readings. Many thanks to all who contributed, especially to Nicole Evans for her very popular mince pies.
CHRISTMAS CARVERY
The annual Christmas carvery takes place tomorrow (Saturday). There may be places left - contact Anne Hutchings on 842817 immediately to reserve your table.
The draw for a superb Christmas hamper will take place during the evening. The tickets associated with the prize are included with the newsletter or may be purchased on the night.
BOXING DAY
The traditional gathering at the club following the swim has always been a popular occasion when everyone can relax and enjoy a good time in warm convivial surroundings. So why not come along - all are welcome!
LONDON BOAT SHOW
The club is running a trip to visit the London Boat Show on January 12. Anyone interested in this trip should contact Tony Spiller on 812325. Apologies to readers for the incorrect telephone number recorded in last week's issue.
DARTS
Both darts teams suffered defeats last Friday. Nil desperandum, it's better to have played and lost than not to have played at all (have I got that right?). No darts this evening, the next set of matches being on January 4. Participating members please note.
