Windy weather has seen Tenby Museum and Art Gallery forced to close for the time being, until repairs to the roof are conducted.

The temporary closure came into place today (Monday, August 14) after it was noticed at 7 am that a section of the flat roof on the foyer of the building located on Castle Hill, was lifting with the wind, and inspected as a matter of urgency.

With building inspectors attending, it was decided that the best course of action to make the structure safe, is to close off the footpath and have scaffolding erected on Tuesday morning that will provide edge protection and can be utilised to stop the flat roof from lifting.

The roof will need further inspection to assess the condition and a way forward.

Tenby Museum issued a customer notice on social media, stating: “Due to circumstances outside of our control the Museum and Art Gallery will be closed until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
