Tenby Male Choir gave a concert at St. Mary’s Church on Thursday, August 11, in support of the Tudor Merchant’s House and Tenby Museum and Art Gallery.

Musical director Ian Williams led the choir in singing a wide variety of pieces, including a trilogy of African Native Songs; traditional Welsh songs such as Rachie and Hiraeth; religious pieces such as Benedictus and Morte Christe; and songs involving audience participation like Grandfather’s Clock.

The concert certainly lived up to its title of ‘Curious Minds’, the audience being taken around the world and through time.

The choir were ably accompanied by Jill Williams, and the concert was compered by David Blackmore. The soloist for this concert was local student, Amy Taylor, who played two contrasting but both beautiful pieces on the flute.

The Tudor Merchant’s House and Tenby Museum were very pleased at the large audience who came to the concert - and would like to extend their thanks to them all. They would also, of course, like to thank the Tenby Male Choir for giving such an excellent concert on their behalf, which raised over £400 for each organisation.
