Year 3 recently enjoyed a further studies 'communities' topic trip to St. David's Cathedral and city. The children were privileged to sing for all visitors and clergy in St. David's Cathedral and were treated to a lesson from choral scholar Sean, as well as presenting a donation cheque to Janet Ingram, the cathedral's storyteller and education officer. Pupils also enjoyed a story in the yurt where the touring glass quilt was being displayed.

Fairtrade Banana day

After recently being awarded Fairtrade School status, Tenby Junior School celebrated by having a 'Banana Day' event. All pupils were encouraged to buy a Fairtrade banana and sign the giant banana petition that will be sent as part of a lobbying campaign to highlight need for the Government to encourage supermarkets to purchase their bananas from Fairtrade suppliers. They also received 'Foncho' stickers after meeting the man himself in the Fairtrade video showing how his Fairtrade workforce operate.

With our grateful thanks and the help of Fairtrade banana sellers, Sainsbury's, the day got off to a great start and all bananas were sold out within 15 minutes.

Pictured are Year 4 pupils signing the banana petition and also pupils of 3D, Beck, Mila and Fletcher, working hard to make the event successful.
