Tenby U11s
Andrew Price's Under 11s had tough game away at Newcastle Emlyn winning 63-12.
Tenby were asked to play on a much narrower pitch than usual as the opposition wanted to contain the Tenby backline which has plenty of pace.
Tenby scored four cracking tries during the first half, with the ball being quickly passed along the backline.
Henry McBeth scored two as he bustled his way over in the corners, while Lorcan Williams outstripped the opposition as he ran in a great try after some crisp passing. Max Brindley burst through on the angle and brushed away a few tacklers as he also scored.
For the remainder of the half, Newcastle attacked and Harri tracked his opposite number and made a try-saving tackle, only for the opposition to get there in greater numbers to support their runner. Unfortunately for Tenby, they quickly recycled the ball to crash over and score.
Tenby went in at half-time 24-5 up and soon made numerous changes as they had taken 18 boys and were keen to give everyone a good run.
Newcastle scored first during the second half, somewhat controversially, as the Tenby players looked on in disbelief - at least the referee apologised straightaway.
This seemed to galvanise the team as Owain Evans and Ben Millward led the charge with ball in hand and put in some huge tackles on the opposition, thus allowing the expert William Swales and Thomas Rees to start getting quick ball which is needed for the backs.
Tenby scored straight after, with Dom Booth bagging a trademark try as he crashed through several would-be tacklers.
Gus P. Dick also carried the ball well and hit the rucks hard, along with his fellow prop Morgan Sparey, and both took some stopping.
Harri Williams scored next after Iori Hicks made a break up the blind side and drew the man perfectly for Harri to dummy his way over.
Another to score was Billy Kinnaer, who showed what a superb player he is as he drove straight at the opposition, who couldn't hold him, and then sprinted clear to score, showing what the county is missing.
Harrison Duckett replaced Iori and immediately made a break before offloading to Henry to score his third try.
Harvey Johns and Dewi Thomas showed real promise as both made telling breaks and kept the continuity of the team going forward.
Dylan Scotcher had a great game at fullback and again never missed a tackle on the opposition.
This was a good run out for the boys and the coaches were very pleased that they were made to work hard for their nine well-worked tries in very wet conditions. Harri also kicked all nine conversions.
The boys have a tough couple of weeks coming up. This week, the Sharks are away at Kidwelly, while the Tigers are away at Hendy.
Further games before Christmas are as follows: November 28 - Gowerton, away; December 5 - Pembroke, away; December 12 - Carmarthen Ath, away; December 19 - Mumbles, home.
Tenby Under 11s welcome any new players and training is at The Clicketts every Tuesday, 6-7.15 pm.
Heywood Lane welcomes county U11s
Heywood Lane will be welcoming the Pembrokeshire Under 11s team to Tenby to play against Carmarthenshire on Wednesday, November 24, with a 6 pm kick-off.
Andrew Price's Under 11s squad will then play against the development county side after the first game which will then kick-off at 7 pm.
This will be a great opportunity for players to get noticed by the county coaches and also for the boys to have the opportunity to play under lights for the first time.
There will be hot coffees and teas available on the night, with proceeds going to Tenby Swifts junior section.
